Micro Apartments Coming Soon to San Francisco

“Small rooms or dwellings set the mind on the right path, large ones cause it to go astray.” – Leonardo da Vinci
“To confront San Francisco’s rising housing affordability crisis, we must be creative and flexible,” Supervisor Scott Wiener said in a public statement. “Allowing the construction of these micro units is one tool to alleviate the pressure that is making vacancies scarce and driving rental prices out of the reach of many who wish to live here.” Up to two people will be allowed to live in these 220 sq. ft. apartments helping those who can’t afford San Francisco’s current sky-rocketing rental prices.
“If your life exists largely outside your dwelling place, as it does either in the outdoors or in the big city,” said designer Adam Kennedy from www.smartspace.net, “then you don’t need quite such a big space.”
