“If you go home with somebody, and they don't have books, don't fuck them.”

--- John Waters

Kari Devereaux: leaked.loved.lights.

“I’d like to introduce you to the magical world I know. Come follow along on my journey, look for beauty in the space between and slip into a reverie…wanderlust through my eyes.” – Kari Devereaux

Rebelling against the ephemeral nature of modern technology, Devereaux uses film (gasp!) in her latest work: leaked. loved. lights., showcasing a unique and slightly vintage cinematic quality that captures the depth and emotion of her subjects with the underlying theme of nostalgia and the longing for a place you can’t quite get back to. Devereaux excels at capturing the spontaneous imperfections of a fleeting moment, redefining it as beauty in the raw.

Fuck, it’s Hot. Why Not Get Wet?

By Nico Johanna

Bands have thrown hot woman in the limelight for years but it’s a happy day when that hotness meshes with actual talent. And an even happier day when that band is local. (Editors Note: Even better when a certain, spontaneous member of that band has late-night, skinny dipping pool parties during this grueling heat, awww yeah).

TIGERcat‘s live performances involve synchronized visuals, projections and lights triggered by the band’s movements. The band is currently in collaborations with DJ hero Mark Farina on existing tracks and remixes by dubstep group NTRLD, Kirby Musik from France, and house group MKTL of Defected Records.

Focusing on indie dance and electronica pop the group includes main collaborators Natasha Adorlee Johnson and Alan Aronoff with popular local musicians; Cole Odin Berggren, Mike Malozoo and Miles Schon. Keep an eye out for them in the coming months, after a TIGERcat performance you’re gonna wanna jump in.
